The England and Wales Cricket Board has confirmed that recreational cricket can begin to return from 11th July.

GOOD NEWS!
Following the PM’s Covid-19 briefing yesterday evening the England and Wales Cricket Board has confirmed that recreational cricket can begin to return from 11th July. There may be some adaptations to the game, and we do not expect to be permitted to use the changing rooms or other internal areas the pavilion, but at least we will have some cricket!

Until guidelines are issued by the ECB in the next few days we cannot be certain of our arrangements, but our current expectations are that we will need until 17th July to prepare the ground and to put in place at the Club whatever Covid-19 precautions are deemed to be necessary. Thereafter we expect our senior matches to be held at the Park each Saturday from 18th July until the end of the season (which may now extend beyond the previously scheduled completion date of 5th September). We also plan to play all of our junior age group home matches at the Park- these will be friendly matches against other clubs, and we anticipate that these will be held on midweek evenings, on Sundays, and possibly on Saturday mornings. Age group managers will contact their squads when more information is available. The junior season may also be a little extended, but we are conscious that many of our juniors will be beginning their winter sporting activities early in September.

This is great news at last. Stand by for more information as soon as it is available.
We will see you all soon.
