A superb all round team performance by a young Farnham 3rd xi led to a comfortable 8 wicket win against Chessington 4th xi on Saturday.

Opening bowlers Hugo Cooper and Jason Housley kept things tight early on, conceding only 24 runs from the first 13 overs, with Chessington not able to hit a single boundary.

Seamer Riley Morrisroe then came on to claim a quickfire 4 wickets, finishing with figures of 5-0-20-4 as he beat the Chessington top order for pace, twice splattering the stumps.

Spinners Ryan Housley (6-1-14-1) and Skipper Neil French (5.5-0-19-2) then removed the middle order with Charlie Hooker and Jason Housley holding their catches.

Pressure in the field told as Housley dried up the runs and the final 2 wickets fell to run outs, with Evan Mann and Ryan Housley staying calm to get the ball in to the correct end as Farnham shot their opponents out for 97.

Wicketkeeper Angus Watson, who spent the entire match on the field with pads on, then hit a superb 58 not out featuring some sumptuous drives through the covers to see Farnham home, with debutant Will Kirkland adding an entertaining 24 not out as victory was secured with more than 13 overs to spare. Every player contributed to a comprehensive win in which Farnham out batted, out bowled and out fielded their opponents.
